Caramelized bananas and oatmeal are such a lovely combination. It’s so comforting. The milk makes the oatmeal creamy, and the walnuts provide some texture.



The oatmeal
40 g / 1 dl / 0.4 cup whole rolled oats
200 g / 2 dl / 0.8 cup water
50 g / 0.5 dl / 0.2 cup milk
2 tsp peanut butter
0.5 tsp cinnamon
1 ml vanilla extract
1 pinch of salt

The banana
0.5 tsp cinnamon
2 tsp maple syrup
0.5 banana, sliced

walnuts, chopped
milk, warm


In a small saucepan over medium-high heat, add the oats, water, milk, peanut butter, cinnamon, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. Cook the oatmeal until thickened to your liking, stirring occasionally for extra creaminess.

While the oatmeal is cooking, make the caramelized bananas. Add cinnamon and maple syrup to a small pan over medium-low heat and stir to combine. Add the banana slices and cook on both sides for a few minutes until they look caramelized.

Transfer the oatmeal to a bowl and pour warm milk over it. Then top the oatmeal with the caramelized bananas and chopped walnuts.
